Awards & Recognition

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive various awards and recognition for my technical contributions, especially as an active member of the Microsoft TechNet Wiki community — a platform that was once a vibrant hub for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and community learning.

As a top contributor to the now-retired TechNet Wiki, I received numerous accolades and recognition points for publishing high-quality technical articles, guiding community members, and helping build a rich technical repository. While the platform may no longer exist, the impact and memories of those contributions remain a proud part of my journey.

The following section highlights some of those awards and recognitions that reflect the passion and consistency I’ve put into technical writing and community engagement.

Besides this, I have received various awards and recognitions from my employer(s) over the years for different professional milestones and contributions. Detailing those is beyond the scope of this page, which is primarily focused on my community and public contributions.

Badges from Microsoft

As part of my active involvement with the Microsoft TechNet Wiki and the broader Microsoft technical community, I was honored to receive two Silver Contributor Badges:

  • Silver TechNet Wiki Contributor

Awarded for consistently contributing high-quality technical content to the TechNet Wiki — including articles, revisions, and collaborative knowledge sharing with the global tech community.

  • Silver MSDN and TechNet Galleries Contributor

Recognized for submitting valuable code samples, scripts, tools, and resources to the Microsoft MSDN and TechNet Galleries — helping developers and IT professionals find practical solutions and inspiration.

These badges were more than just digital tokens — they were a reflection of the trust and recognition from Microsoft for my contributions to the ecosystem. Even though TechNet Wiki and the Galleries have now been retired, these acknowledgments remain a meaningful milestone in my journey.

TechNet Guru Awards

The TechNet Guru Awards is a monthly recognition program, which celebrates the technical articles on TechNet. The articles are contributed and nominated by wiki authors for the current month.

Each month, the contributions are assessed and scored by a panel of judges (5 per category, 2-3 in each are MS experts). From each category, 3 articles are chosen and are awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal based on the article score.

I won TechNet Guru medals for the following articles :

Community Interview

In 2018, I was interviewed by TechNet Wiki Community, and the interview has been published in the below link :

Identification of a Product Bug

While working on Windows Server DNS, I  identified a bug in  DNS Server, which can delete large number of reverse DNS records without any warning, while creating overlapping reverse lookup zones.

I published a TechNet Wiki article on this issue, and also reported the issue to Microsoft Support team. The team reproduced the issue in Microsoft lab and confirmed that this finding is true. They also informed that this issue would probably be fixed with the next release of Windows.
